Several faculty members in the Department of Applied Chemistry participate in the Next-Generation Functional Materials Research Center, conducting cutting-edge research in advanced energy materials, intelligent biomedical sensing, and quantum materials and devices. The Center has achieved significant breakthroughs in green energy materials, flexible electronics, smart sensing technologies, and innovative device development. Its research outcomes have been published in leading international journals and are supported through collaborations with renowned research groups worldwide.
Since joining the Higher Education Sprout Project, it has received continuous support from both the Ministry of Education and the National Science and Technology Council as a Featured Areas Research Center. Bringing together researchers from seven colleges, two universities, and two affiliated hospitals, the Center focuses on three major research themes: advanced energy materials and applications, non-invasive intelligent diagnostics, and advanced quantum materials and devices. Its research aligns with Taiwan’s national priorities in carbon neutrality, precision medicine, semiconductor innovation, and quantum technology, advancing internationally competitive and high-impact scientific research.
