Congratulations to Associate Professor Sung-Fu Hung of our department for winning the Ministry of Education’s Yushan Young Scholar Award for the second time!
Associate Professor Hong Songfu focuses on the research and development of green hydrogen production and carbon dioxide reduction catalysts, as well as the development of industrialization systems. His work has made significant contributions to achieving the global net-zero carbon emissions and sustainable energy transition goals (SDG 13: Climate Action). His research has garnered numerous accolades, including the 2021 National Science Council 2030 Transgenerational Young Scholar Award – Rising Star Scholar and the 2025 National Science Council 2030 Transgenerational Young Scholar Award – International Young Outstanding Scholar, demonstrating the strong recognition of Professor Hong’s contributions to sustainability-related issues.
His research findings, as the corresponding author, have been published in top international journals such as *Nature Energy*, *Nature Water*, and *Nature Synthesis*, as well as authoritative international journals such as *Nature Communications*, *Journal of the American Chemical Society*, *Angewandte Chemie*, and *Advanced Materials*, showcasing the high academic influence of his laboratory’s research from a chemical perspective.
These research achievements have placed Professor Hung among the top 2% of scientists globally, and he was selected as a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher in 2023 and 2024, demonstrating the international influence of his research, showcasing the academic excellence of Taiwan, and further winning the Ministry of Environment’s Green Chemistry Application and Innovation Award, recognizing the potential contribution of this technology field to the green energy industry.
